Renew the Mind Body & Soul
Information to help others renew and refocus
What does your morning routine look like? 5 minutes is all that is needed to get the day started. I love doing this routine when I’m press for time. The benefit over time could lower your stress. It can help gain clarity to quickly overcome challenges for each day. I find when I don’t take at least 5 minutes every morning I’m super cranky and not mentally prepared. 1 min - Silence is Golden Silence reduces stress. Take a couple of deep breathes. Clear your mind and prepare for a stress free day. I like to use the mediation app because they have an unguided mediation with just sound. You can select your favorite sound and timer. 1 min - Move I know. I know. Who wants to get up first thing in the morning to exercise. But this will be the easiest thing you do all day. Plus it helps the improvement of our overall health. No equipment or experience is needed. Check out my home workouts page for some ideas. Exercising always helps me wake my body up and get the blood flowing. 1 min - Read We all know reading is fundamental. I like to start my day with reading a few pages a day. I tend to read anything positive and motivational. I also do a daily Bible plan on the Bible app, You Verison. If you are curious on what I’m reading follow me on Goodreads. 1 min- Journal I heard around town of you write things down you will remember them better. I would have to agree. The more I write the more I remember things. Journal gratitude for the day, current mood, weather, to do list or even goals that you want to accomplish for that day. What ever comes to mind. 1 min- Affirmation You have made it to the last minute of your morning. Hopefully, you are feeling motivated and ready to conquer the world. Affirmations are positive statement that can help over come negative thoughts. Create that statement, affirm it and put that positive vibe out there for yourself. After all we should be our #1 fan. PS My statement is I am a leader. Execute the plan
Now that you got the steps to your new routine. It’s time to put the plan in place. Remember it takes 21 days to make a habit. You may hit snooze on the alarm or maybe you just not feeling the new routine. It’s okay each day is a new day. If you don’t plan, you plan to fail Paper planners - make a habit tracker in your planner. Check off each day when you complete your routine. Download my free morning routine tracker. Maybe you don’t do paper planners. That’s ok. Set your alarm on your phone. If you have the option to change the name or label, change the generic statement to something like “ 5 min morning routine”. Hopefully, this 5 min jump-start gives you that much more energy in the morning and help increase productivity.
